SAQ Speed Agility Quickness
Want those feet firing a little quicker?
Are you a bit slow round the court, pitch or just need a little more speed in the mornings to catch that train?
These sessions are all about speed and making you faster.
Some benefits of SAQ training include increases in muscular power in linear, lateral, horizontal, and multi-planar movements; brain signal efficiency; kinesthetic or body spatial awareness; motor skills; and reaction force and time.
SAQ training is not for beginners. It is an advanced form of training that should be introduced after a base of training has been established. Each athlete comes into a training program at somewhat different fitness levels, thus each athlete must train at different intensity levels. This form of training is best described as intense exercise and should only be implemented after a solid foundation of strength training and conditioning has been developed.
We look to improve feet acceleration and more importantly deceleration as the quicker you can slow a foot down on landing, the sooner you can get it pushing of in the right direction again.
SAQ sessions are specific to your sporting performance and getting you to the highest level of competition that you are capable of.
SAQ programmes are intended for someone who has a good level of general fitness and is hungry to accomplish their sporting goals.
